The more muddy paw prints the better!...

Please join us for roughly a 5k walk around the Coldharbour fields in Hildenborough on Saturday 23rd March (route below). We're setting off from the back exit at Ridings at around 9:15am for a gentle (and likely muddy) stroll, coming together to raise money for Dementia UK. Please bring a cash donation (no cards accepted for this I'm afraid) of any amount, and if you have a dog with you, we'll treat them to a Ridings puppaccino & dog biscuit when we return.

The year 5 class at Hildenborough CE Primary School, after receiving some valuable training, spent the morning with some of the residents at Hyllden Heights Care Home (some living with dementia). When we heard about this and their fundraising efforts for Dementia UK, we wanted to help too.

We LOVE dogs at Ridings and it's always a treat when our customers bring their furry friends in. We have our outside areas - our heated marquee and our garden where dogs are welcome. Dog sausages and puppaccinos are on our menu too! I think it's fair to say that we have high population of dog lovers in Hildenborough, so it's only right that they are invited along to this community walk too. I'm sure it goes without saying but for the enjoyment of everybody, please keep your dog on a lead, unless they are gentle natured and extremely well trained. You don't have to have a dog to join us, the more the merrier! We hope to raise a good amount for Dementia UK and hope that this will be the first of many community walks.

Thank you and we'll look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!

FAQs:

Do I need to have a dog? - No, you don't need to have a dog to join us - the more the merrier!

Is this suitable for buggies/wheelchairs/walkers? - Not this route I'm afraid. The ground may be muddy and slippery under foot. There is also a stile to climb over on the route, so please ensure you're able to manage this. I'm sure there will be helping hands if needed.

What time will we be back? - It really depends on how fast you walk. It's not a race. This is an event to get the local community together for a great cause, to get out in the fields and hopefully meet some new people.

How do we donate? - Jen's daughter Beth will be collecting cash donations before we head off on the walk. We will then hand over the full amount to Hildenborough CofE Primary School to add to their fundraising total.

Do you allow dogs inside the café? - Dogs can come through the café and wait inside if you're ordering a takeaway, otherwise please make use of our marquee and garden area. Thank you.

Why do we need to sign up? - It would be helpful to us to have an idea of how many to expect and to ensure we have enough whipped cream for those delicious puppaccinos.

For any further questions please email info@ridingscafe.com with 'Community Dog Walk' in the subject field. Many thanks!
